The Portuguese ILLUQ team returned to the Arctic for a three-week field campaign in the Canadian Yukon, 19 July–10 August 2026.
ILLUQ WPs 1 and 3 joined forces again with the German ThinIce project while visiting Inuvik in Nortwest Territories in Canada.
The summer 2026 WP6 embarked on an interview journey to Tuktoyaktuk NWT, Canada.
In September ILLUQ participated in the ThawingLYR seminar: Connecting perspectives on permafrost change in Longyearbyen
Summer 2026 saw an exciting opportunity for collaboration between Umeå University and Tromsø University to conduct fieldwork on Svalbard for WP2.
From 2-14 February 2026 researchers Evan Allen and Christina Goldhar left Stockholm for Longyearbyen to complete fieldwork for work package 8.4 ‘adaptive governance’.
