Summer 2026 saw an exciting opportunity for collaboration between Umeå University and Tromsø University to conduct fieldwork on Svalbard for WP2.

WP8 adventured to Ilulissat in Greenland in March 2026 to engage with local stakeholders.

The DTU team have been in Greenland again in summer and fall 2025 to study the linkages between permafrost thaw and drinking water quality.

The summer 2026 WP6 embarked on an interview journey to Tuktoyaktuk NWT, Canada.

The fantastic town of Sisimiut welcomed us again in February 2026, thanks to the Arctic DTU.

Work packages 1, 2 and 3 joined efforts together with the project ThinIce (Thawing industrial legacies in the Arctic - a threat to permafrost ecosystems) also this year, in the western arctic tundra.
