Summer means expeditions in Arctic research. A team, led by the ILLUQ coordinator Hugues Lantuit, is currently on the Hersechel Island / Qikiqtaruk on field work related to the WPs 1 and 6.

Consultations in the local communities form a large part of ILLUQ activities. In summer 2024, we visited Inuvik, Tuktoyaktuk, and Aklavik as part of the ILLUQ project’s outreach and collaboration efforts.

Expeditions

A big part of our research takes place in the Arctic in expeditions. Our researchers visit local communties in Western Greenland, Svalbard and in the Canadian Arctic.
